Two or three species laminated into the block before it goes on the lathe, so the bowl reads as bands inside and out — pale maple over dark walnut, cherry over walnut, or all three striped through the wall. Food-safe oil and wax finish. Open the builder to set the diameter and the depth, 6 to 20 in across, the pairing and the extras.
